Condensing boilers are also known as combination boilers (combi for short). They contain a heat exchanger to turn latent heat into condensation which prevents energy from going to waste. Combi boilers use less energy whilst providing more heat, making them more economical than older boilers. They also provide heating and hot water on demand.
Yes, cleaning your central heating system will remove any debris that could otherwise inhibit the performance of your new boiler. 1st Gas always power flush the heating system, add inhibitor and install a central heating system filter when installing a new boiler.
All gas engineers are required by law to be Gas Safe registered, Gas Safe engineers have completed training to ensure that they are competent. Ask to see your engineers ID card or visit the Gas Safe Register website to check whether your engineer is qualified.
After your boiler has been installed you will receive the manufacturers guarantee and a building regulations compliance certificate.
